My tips for studying at home.

Hi readers,

So as some of you know, I’m currently an Open University student. When I began studying from home, I struggled a little to adjust. Here are some tips and opinions I’ve come up with that helped me study.

Chose a designated space- A space free from distractions, and gets you in the mindset of studying. I find having everything I need in that space helpful.

Create a schedule- I like to know how long I need to spend studying. A routine allows me to use my time wisely.

Take regular breaks- Give your brain time to rest.

Remove distractions- I try to go somewhere quiet where disturbance is low (easier said than done)

Join groups- I learnt so much by joining WhatsApp and Facebook groups of people, who are studying the same as me.

Believe in yourself and work hard- Whether it’s online or in a school. Have the confidence in yourself. Try the hardest you can and be proud.

Have fun- I know how stressful studying can be, but I try to enjoy it as much as I can.

How do you guys like to study from home?

Thank you for reading.

January 16th: Why I started blogging.

Hi readers,

As you may know from my previous posts, I’m a pretty sentimental person. So I thought I would remind myself why I started blogging.

I started blogging because I have been following bloggers for a long time. I always thought it looked fun and a means of escape. It looked like a positive thing to do for yourself.

It took a lot of confidence for me to start. But I’m so glad I’ve now done it. It’s something I can see myself doing for a long time,

December 30: New Year Look Back Tag!

Hi readers,

I think most people have had an unexpected year this year. I thought this blog post would be a final reflection of 2020, then a move on and a clean slate. Also, I want to pick up some postives so I don’t think this year was all bad.

What did you do in 2020 that you’ve never done before?

I travelled to France and stayed in Paris for my twenty-first birthday. Also, I visited Disneyland for the first time.

What was last year’s New Year Resolution, how did you do?

I can’t remember setting resolutions, but I know that I was desperate to pass my driving test. After my sixth attempt, I finally passed during lockdown August 2020.

What would you like to have accomplished in 2020 that you didn’t get to?

Getting through 2020 itself feels like an accomplishment to me. I believe all should focus on what we have accomplished this year, and how well we have dealt with the circumstances.

What was your biggest achievement of the year?

It’s a difficult one its either getting my driving licence or passing my first Open University module.

What was the best thing you bought?

It’s going to strange weird, but knitting supplies. This year I learnt to knit, and it has kept me occupied during this year.

Did you travel anywhere memorable?

Paris in January, it seems like a lifetime ago now. I feel grateful that I did have a holiday this year.

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned last year.

I’ve learnt never take anything or anyone for granted. The everyday things I have missed during lockdown has been a real lesson of how I should always apricate them.

If you could look back on one memory this year you wish you could relive, what would it be?

The memory I would like to relieve is missing my boyfriend’s birthday due to restrictions.

If you could change anything about the year you had, what would it be?

I don’t like this sort of questions. As I would always say I would change something, but would I be the person I am? I believe everything that happens to you is a life lesson.

Share something you’re looking forward to this year.

The summer and hopefully watching the Coronavirus impact go down.

Thank you for reading.

December 23rd: Things you can do on Christmas Eve.

Hi readers,

Happy Christmas Eve Eve everyone! Here are some ideas for activities you can do tomorrow.

Bake- Bake some Christmas treats such as mince pies or cookies.

Watch a Christmas film– There are so many to chose from, have a relax on a sofa with a Christmas film.

Read– Read some Christmas themed books.

Sing and Listen to Christmas Music- The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.

Do some Christmas craft- Colour or create something Christmasy. Papercraft or knitting are my personal favourites.

Have a walk around the local area and see lights on houses- I love seeing the Christmas lights around the Local area.

Do something charitable– Reflect on those who are less fortunate than ourselves.

Wish everyone you know a Merry Christmas! This year, it’s so important to keep in touch with others.

December 13th: Sail away book review.

Hi readers,

Last night I finished a book called Sail Away by Celia Imrie. The story features two women (Suzy and Amanda) Who both faced problems think that better days are coming when they go on a cruise. However, they get more than they anticipated.

Even though this book I thought had a slow start. It becomes gripping during the finish,

The book is full of loveable (and not so lovable) characters. There is also an element of humour in there which I enjoyed.

On the whole, it was a very entertaining read which I would recommend.

Thank you for reading

December 11th: My goals for December.

Hi readers,

This evening, I’ve been reflecting and trying to decide what my goals are for this last month of 2020.

1. Try not to spend to much .

2. Appreciate my family, and the things some others may not have.

3. Try not to eat too unhealthy (difficult)

4. Make time for me.

5. Try not to get to stressed.

At the moment, I think the main thing is taking everything one step at a time.

Christmas Movie Netflix

December 8th: Holidate on Netflix.

Hello readers,

I discovered a new movie on Netflix earlier on, and I was pleasantly surprised. I’ve found Netflix has added some pretty good movies this month. It helps that I love Christmas films.

Emma Roberts stars as the main character in this film. It’s about strangers fed up with dating, who agree to be each other’s dates during holidays.

Even though it didn’t have great reviews, I still enjoyed this film. It was a feel-good film that I would watch again.

Have you watched this movie? what are your thoughts?

4) Kindle- My Dad enjoyed his first bit of technology.

5) Personalised CD- My boyfriend has long journeys to work so appreciated a CD of his favourite songs.
